IN HOUSE BREAKFAST CHEF INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR – 1099

The In-House Breakfast Chef will utilize our brand-new catering kitchen to provide made to order breakfast items on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at our Headquarters in Stoughton, MA. The Chef will be responsible for food shopping, food preparation, order intake, cooking and clean up. This position will work a maximum of 14 hours per week and must be onsite ready to receive breakfast orders at 8:00 AM.
Ingredients and menu options will be at the Chef’s discretion with input from our team of popular menu items.
The ideal candidate will have a culinary background with at least one year experience in a breakfast restaurant setting, or experience with a catering company specializing in hot breakfast creations. The candidate must provide references and/or proof of skillset.
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execution of daily breakfast service, quality, technique, presentation, and food cost control
- Estimate food consumption and requisition of food purchase
- Ensure that appropriate sanitation, maintenance, and safety standards are followed
- Standardize recipes to ensure consistent quality
- Individually purchase all necessary ingredients on weekly basis
- Adhere to provided budget requirements
- Maintain proper stock rotation
- Other projects as assigned
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Accredited Culinary Arts Degree or Certificate highly desirable
- ServSafe© Certificate in good standing required
- Proper proof of insurance required
- 1+ years relative kitchen experience
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Flexible, motivated and task oriented
- Must be able to communicate clearly with all levels of employees
- Maintains superb kitchen cleanliness
- Proper hygiene and uniform required with nonslip footwear
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Has personal means of transportation
- Self-motivated with little direction from Management
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) for proper invoice reconciliation
Level of Responsibility:
Interact independently with internal and external parties, has the knowledge to make independent decisions.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not supervise employees
