Position Type: Position Summary:
The LE Training Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination and scheduling to provide basic, in-service, and career development training for the Piedmont Correctional Institute (PCI) Consortium group and Rowan and Cabarrus County Community Corrections. The consortium consists of PCI, Davidson Correctional Center, and Forsyth Correctional Center. This position is a permanent part-time position, and the coordinator can work up to 25 hours per week.

Staff Required Education/Experience:

• Two-Year Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field, OR equivalent combination of education and training.
• Current Criminal Justice General Instructor Certification.
• Five years of full-time work experience as a Law Enforcement or Corrections Officer.
• Five years of teaching experience in N.C. Commission Mandated Courses.
• Possess or willing to complete Department of Adult Corrections (DAC) instructor training.

Faculty Required Education/Experience Skills: Desired Education/Experience/Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in criminal justice or related field.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duty and Responsibility:
Coordinate the day-to-day delivery of In-Service Law Enforcement Training Courses, specifically, the PCI Consortium classes.

Duty and Responsibility:
Works jointly with the Director of Law Enforcement Training, Law Enforcement Training Consortium, PCI Consortium, Criminal Justice Programs Joint Advisory Committee, North Carolina Criminal Justice Education Training & Standards Division in the planning & development of future In-Service Law Enforcement Training Courses.

Duty and Responsibility:
Shall ensure all active In-Service Training instructors applicable current general, specific and CPR Certification are on file in the Law Enforcement Training Office prior to their assigned course delivery

Duty and Responsibility:
Shall maintain records of each In-Service Class to include but not limited to the following: a) lesson plans, b) tests, c) handouts, d)videos, e) registration forms, f) class roster, g)class attendance forms, h) class visitation forms, and i) contracts.

Duty and Responsibility:
Shall ensure compliance with the fee waiver guidelines for Public Services personnel as established by the North Carolina Administrative Code.

Duty and Responsibility:
Shall maintain a positive attitude and work as a “Team Player” with all other Law Enforcement Training staff for the smooth and efficient delivery of Law Enforcement Training Courses.

Duty and Responsibility:
Shall attend the annual North Carolina Criminal Justice School Directors Conference.

Duty and Responsibility:
Shall ensure that all contract instructors follow guidelines established by the Director of Law Enforcement Training and external accrediting agencies.

Duty and Responsibility:
Complete any other assigned duties and responsibilities of the college.
