OVERVIEW
Founded in 1947 by Nina Vance, the Alley Theatre is a pioneer of regional theatre, and one of the leading nonprofit theatre companies in the United States. JOB STATEMENT*

The Individual Giving Associate plays a significant role in the cultivation and stewardship of all Alley Theatre donors and prospects. This person will be responsible for the planning and execution of all patron events throughout the year and will oversee the Alley Theatre’s annual stewardship strategy and calendar of activities, increasing engagement and involvement among donors who give up to $1,500 annually.

JOB DUTIES*

Coordinate all in-person and virtual patron events, such as CenterStage Dinners, Board Dinners, Artistic Director’s Circle Salon Events, and others. Duties include creating and mailing invitations, managing RSVPs, coordinating event logistics, etc.

  • Enter all special event and donor interactions into database to ensure accurate reporting and portfolio management.
  • Work with Director of Development and Director of Individual Giving each year to create a stewardship calendar that will help guide the department’s stewardship initiatives each year.
  • Implement stewardship and cultivation steps for donors and prospects who give up to $1,500 annually: conduct thank you calls, mail notecards, conduct donor surveys, etc.
  • Work with Research Analyst to identify unique donor touchpoints.
  • Attend events throughout the season encouraging the development of relationships with the Alley’s corporate donors.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: *

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to lift and move 25 lbs. Must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment where directions and priorities can change rapidly. Typical hours are during the day, but the position requires the flexibility to be available for weekend, holidays and evening work hours as needed.

REQUIREMENTS (SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE):

Minimum of one year of experience in fundraising within the non-profit sector including direct solicitation experience, as well as developing cultivation and solicitation strategies.
Excellent communication skills with demonstrable ability to prepare and present both formal written and oral presentations
Requires strong collaboration skills in order to work effectively across the organization and function consistently as a highly valued and high performing team player within the Development department and the organization
A demonstrated ability to multi-task and meet deadlines Broad knowledge of individual giving fundraising principles (i.e. identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship)
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy Flexibility to work patron and special events that occur on the evenings and weekends
Bachelor's Degree preferred
Actively participate in proofing of the Annual Report and_ Playbills_.
