SUMMARY: Kalyn Siebert is seeking an Industrial Engineer to help optimize process and product flow in our Gatesville, TX manufacturing facility. The position will require working individually and with large teams.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Lead the implementation of special projects as requested thru Kaizens, and Lean Manager.
• Utilize time study data to balance production lines
• Update Standard Work using recent time study data, BOM and specifications
• Work with site lean manager and floor leaders to develop new Standard of Work for assembly lines and workstations
• Coach floor leaders on balancing the lines and index on time
• Identify Waste and work with teams to eliminate
• Create work instructions to drive consistency/efficiency
• Work with manufacturing personnel on solving production problems, improving product quality and reducing cost
• Participate in Work Place Organization Projects and perform 5S audits
• Support and participate in Kaizen workshops to improve line efficiency
• Develop and evaluate Kanban system usage for material and parts usage
• Develop reporting systems that can be run daily by Lean Technicians
• Report out to management during daily meetings
• Travel as needed to support business objectives
• All other duties as required by site leaders request in support of Site KPI Objectives

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None
QUALIFICATIONS:

• Complete understanding of principles and practices of Lean Manufacturing
• Proficient in MS office applications (Word, Power point, Excel)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong team player
• Proactive person that works well independently to meet goals
• Multi-tasking: Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time
• Must be able to obtain Lean Bronze Certification within 1 year

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment
• 4-year College degree in Industrial Engineering or Related Field

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external customers in both written and oral form
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Occasional exposure to manufacturing where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as eye, ear, and foot protection
• Sit or stand as needed
• Walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day
• Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to reach documents or store materials
• Proper lifting techniques as required
• Typing and sitting at a computer for long periods of time
