Infection Preventionist, Full-time Days

Inova Loudoun Hospital is looking for a Full-time Days Infection Preventionist, to join our team. This role is full-time Monday-Friday.

Responsibilities:

• Provides effective education and training regarding infection prevention and control (i.e. New Team Member Orientation, unit based in-services, community/patient/family education).
• Facilitates changes within the organization to improve the culture surrounding infection prevention through the use of concepts outlined in performance improvement strategies.
• Recommends new or revised practices/procedures based on an epidemiologic review of scientific literature and currently accepted evidence based infection prevention and control strategies.

• Collaborates with the Public Health Department by following up on reportable diseases/conditions requiring public health action.
• Collaborates with Team Member Health on implementing prevention and control measures to reduce the risk of occupational exposure to infectious diseases.
• Reviews policies and procedures related to team member exposure prevention and control (e.g. bloodborne pathogen exposure, prevention and control plan, TB prevention and control plan).
• Participates in disaster preparedness at the operating unit and system level by developing and reviewing policies, procedures and plans to promote disaster preparedness.

Requirements:

• Location: Inova Loudoun Hospital, 44045 Riverside Parkway, Leesburg, VA
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree MT(ASCP) Registry or BA/BS, BSN
• Schedule: Fulltime Monday-Friday, Days
• Experience: 2-3 years of nursing, MT or Public Health Experience within a hospital
• Licensing: CIC within 2-years
