INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY & CYBER SECURITY TECHNICIAN

POSITION SUMMARY

The Information Technology & Cyber Security Technician works in partnership with teammates of the Information Technology team by supporting endpoint configuration and distribution, monitoring endpoint and system security, enforcing use and security policies and ensuring that all endpoints and systems are adequately secured from unauthorized access.

In this role, you will provide first level support of Company information, security architecture and/or operations, including threat management, incident management, vulnerability management and penetration testing. Technician may be required to identify, investigate, and report fraudulent use, misuse, and/or abuse of IT endpoints, systems, and applications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supports the ongoing operations of the information security team, including tracking metrics, testing, and preparing reports
• Supports and monitors the company’s active directory environments
• Supports and monitors the server, appliance, desktop, laptop and mobile device security controls
• Supports the management of network firewall, intrusion detection/prevention, data loss prevention and network access control solutions to ensure the protection of company networks
• Supports the technology risk assessment process with the goal of ensuring alignment with the organization's risk tolerance and risk profile
• Supports the execution of the employee security training program, educating all employees on existing policies, standards, and processes to include targeted training to higher risk employees
• Assists business continuity and disaster recovery testing efforts across the business
• Supports and monitors the regulatory and compliance requirements
• Works with business managers to make strategic and tactical recommendations to improve results and efficiencies.
• Installs updates/patches to operating systems, business critical software applications, and hardware
• Assists with configuring and shipping of new employee equipment
• Ensures standard hardware setup and configuration procedures are clearly defined and followed in accordance with cybersecurity best practices in mind
• Assists with maintaining inventories of hardware and software
• Performs routine maintenance on endpoints as needed

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL SET (1-3 YEARS)

• A+, Net+, and Sec+ certificate holders
• Analytical and critical thinking skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to take initiative
• Experience with security monitoring and assessment tools
• Familiarity with SaaS applications including Google Workspace, Salesforce, 1Password.
• Familiarity with IT security frameworks (NIST, PCI, ISO 27001)
• Active Directory experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field with 1-3 years of experience
