Catalyst Powertrain is recruiting for a Inside Sales Representative for its Auburn location. Catalyst Powertrain is a leading heavy-duty commercial vehicle repair and maintenance organization specializing in on-highway and off-highway vehicles and machinery. We leverage high-profile industry manufacturer agreements, use advanced technical implementation and repair methods, and we have a knowledgeable, dedicated team of technicians. Catalyst Powertrain drives bottom-line value and deeper service opportunities for companies locally and around the world.

We specialize in transmissions and are an authorized Allison Transmissions dealer and service center. We are also an authorized dealer and service center for Yanmar, Kubota, Scania, Carlisle Brake & Friction, Madill, Transfluid Industrial & Marine, and other high-profile manufacturers.

The successful candidate will assist customers through counter sales, phone calls, emails, and at industry trades shows for Catalyst Powertrain. This position is responsible for customer service and business development and requires a special ability to find out what customers need through active listening skills. This position reports to the General Manager. Catalyst Powertrain is a family-focused privately held company that rewards growth mindset and high performance.

Essential Duties:

  • Help customers identify and purchase parts or services appropriate for their needs.
  • Forecasts sales and uncover sales opportunities with existing customers and nurtures new customer opportunities.
  • Recommend win-win long term deals for maintenance, replacement, and repair of fleets and heavy-duty commercial trucks and equipment.
  • Develop outreach plan for new opportunities and a referral plan for existing customers.
  • Identify and increase supply chain opportunities in collaboration with company leadership.
  • Works closely with all departments to ensure high customer satisfaction and on-time project completions.
  • Perform research for new channel partner, sales, and industry sales, and develop inbound and outbound sales programs. Willingness to explore current industry applications and dive deeply to understand customer needs and pain points.
  • Assist customers in selecting required parts and recommend associated products and services.
  • Receive and process customer orders via the counter, phone, email, and website inquiries.
  • Informs customers of unit prices, shipping date, anticipated delays, and any additional information needed by customers.
  • Assist with any customer service questions that may arise.
  • Develops new leads by use of all available resources, including referrals, website, trade show contacts, and CRM contact and data mining tools.
  • Maintains a current knowledge of new product and market developments.
  • Documents all account activity in CRM and other business tools.
  • Ensures internal and external customer satisfaction. Develop and maintain effective sales department KPIs and work flow including accuracy of orders and other standard processes.
  • Works with Parts and Truck Service departments to ensure POs are issued for all orders/purchases at time of order; assures correct PO is recorded on all invoices.
  • Works with other branches within the Catalyst Powertrain network to assist company resources when ordering parts and services for all location operations.
  • Execute defined objectives to meet annual sales department goals and budget, while maintaining alignment with the Company’s customer service objectives, mission, and vision.
  • Approximately 20% regional travel to build relationships, develop new business opportunities, and gain positive exposure on behalf of Catalyst Powertrain.

Compensation and Benefits:

Includes competitive salary (DOE), $45k - $80k, plus growth bonus, 401(k) match, medical, dental, and life insurance. Employees receive paid time off including vacation, sick days and holidays.

Qualifications - the ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Ability to effectively communicate with a positive outlook and attitude is a must.
  • Ability to work well with others and lead by example and mentorship; must have ownership mindset.
  • History of working from first understanding the customer need (active listening a must), then honestly assessing a fit between the customer need and product or service offerings.
  • Able to speak clearly, listen attentively, and have a positive mindset.
  • 3 year’s experience working in in the heavy-duty equipment and vehicle industry or related industry. Account management experience a plus.
  • Is safety-minded and has a history of working safely.
  • Demonstrated history working well with other company departments to achieve outstanding customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to use standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office, online parts look-up and ordering software, dealership management software and other internet-based programs.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Knowledge of heavy-duty equipment and vehicle industries.
  • Strong references from former employers and colleagues.
