Under general direction of the Commercial Enablement lead is responsible for both placing proactive outbound calls and potential prospects and helping other sellers perform at a high level by converting marketing leads into prospects, and identifying new leads via LinkedIn searches and other outreach. Inside Sales Representatives work to develop, maintain, and implement long-term business partnerships with their assigned leads. This includes following up on customers who have shown an interest in doing business with the Company through marketing lead qualification, understanding the BPS products and services in order to qualify leads and provide valuable, targeted leads to sellers. Lead Inside Sales Representatives have a demonstrated level of sales experience, interest and a potentially a career trajectory in sales.
  • Initiates proactive calls to marketing-qualified leads in order to convert from marketing qualified to sales qualified then passes those leads and relevant client and company information to the sales lead
  • Conducts pre-call research and planning to understand the company and drug, set goals for the call and to anticipate customer needs.
  • Has a working command of BPS cross-portfolio suite of products/services by attending training and passing learning assessments
  • Has a strong command of the company marketing materials that can be shared with leads to turn into sales qualified opportunities
  • Generates and analyzes secondary research and AB-sponsored data subsciptions (eg Informa) to identify customer trends in order to either take advantage of the trend or minimize the impact of the trend – and pulls through the opportunity with the sales organization
  • Works closely with marketing in lead transfers and keeps RevX (salesforce.com) records up to date
  • Conducts prospect/company research to support lead generation at conference
  • Utilizes LinkedIn to profile leads and communicates with them via LinkedIn resources (eg sharing BPS content with leads)
  • Complete company/product research and backgrounders from secondary sources (eg Informa) for sales leads
  • Helps prepare for, participates in and follows up on weekly sales meetings (eg Integrated Business Development)
  • Completes customer maintenance in RevX such as titles address changes and supports sellers in RevX
  • Demonstrates initiative in their own professional development such as keeping abreast of the industry and its changes through the use of industry information and company literature
  • Works closely with commercial enablement leadership to contribute to the strategic vision of the sales organization
  • Provides reliable competitive intelligence
  • Utilizes BPS reporting tools such as CRM system (Salesforce.com), etc. to comply with corporate direction, expand/track current customer business, track and document sales leads and for other purposes as defined by management
  • Performs in a high performing culture
  • Performs critical management practices such as goal setting and tracking, professional development.
  • As success is demonstrated, may move into a player/coach role onboarding and leading additional inside sales team members
  • Performs related duties as assigned
What your background should look like
Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four-year degree program, or equivalent combination of experience and education. Ideally, a minimum of 1-2 years related and progressively responsible sales experience.
Excellent interpersonal skills and relationship building skills to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with both customers and other BPS associates Excellent written and oral communication skills to present information and solutions in a professional manner Proven successful sales or sales-related experience and a relentless passion for winning business Proven research skills (eg Informa) to create concise, helpful backgrounders on qualified leads for sales Good organizational skills Basic to intermediate computer skills to proficiently use a windows based system and to accurately input data Working knowledge of Salesforce.com and a desire to learn/apply Working knowledge of LinkedIn
