Job description
Teach and lead ceramics class for seniors at Washington Terrace Senior Center:
Wednesdays, 9 am ~ 12 pm
Fridays, 10 am ~ 1 pm
(3 hours/day)
Total 6 hours/week.
Supervise the Ceramics class.
Plan and instruct special technique classes.
Instruct participants.
Oversee inventory and purchase of supplies.
Maintain program records, to include attendance, expenses, revenues and volunteer hours.
Be responsible for proper care and maintenance of kilns and other equipment.
Be responsible for keeping work areas neat.
Attend to proper storage of ceramic supplies.
Attend training and meetings as required.
Support the director and volunteers of Washington Terrace Senior Center.
Experience and Skills:
Knowledge of proper loading, unloading, and operations of kilns.
Working knowledge of current ceramic techniques.
Experience working with the senior citizen population from diverse social, economic, and cultural backgrounds.
Experience in teaching ceramics or experience in working with ceramics.
High school graduate.
Ability to communicate effectively in English through written and verbal skills.
