SUMMARY

Provides technology system design; installation, maintenance and repairs of electronic systems for campus learning spaces, non-traditional instruction sites and performing/presentation venues. Monitors, supports and maintains systems installed in the campus Advanced Technology classrooms. Works closely with other units of the Learning Commons, ITS and outside vendors and suppliers to create, manage and maintain instructional delivery systems, content distribution and display systems, and audio visual equipment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Design technology systems to meet academic and campus needs and objectives “Technology Systems” to include Advanced Technology Classrooms, videoconferencing, audio and video distribution, audio and video recording and playback, radio and wireless transmission, control systems, networked devices

Maintains daily audiovisual equipment scheduling and distribution as needed to support classrooms, labs and events

Functionally supervise part-time employees.

Install technology systems to design specifications and with industry best practices and standards.

Provides technical expertise and support for special event planning, set up, and troubleshooting.

Provide expertise in the operation of all media technology systems.

Supports clients in the effective utilization of classroom equipment and systems.

Routinely perform preventative maintenance and repair of all college audio-visual equipment. Regularly inspects, cleans, calibrates and performs preventive maintenance on equipment and systems

Facilitate repairs onsite and with outside vendors for warranty repairs

Participate in budgeting for systems, equipment and supplies

Assist with inventory control

Maintain accurate and complete records for use by department administration

Assist with imaging of administrative and academic computers

Provide site-base support for campus computers by identifying and resolving hardware and software problems in response to authorized helpdesk service calls.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Associate’s degree in a technology related discipline

Minimum of two years of experience in design of electronic audiovisual systems and in desktop and media support

Basic knowledge of operating systems and network environments

Basic skill level in Microsoft software applications

Excellent written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $50,132.00 per year
