OVERVIEW
Perfetti Van Melle (makers of Mentos and Airheads!) is one of the world's largest manufacturers and distributors of confectionery and chewing gum with global brands that are being enjoyed in more than 150 countries worldwide. We’re currently seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Inventory Control Manager to join our growing team.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Leading, coaching, developing, and mentoring a high performing Inventory Control Team, ensuring career development, succession planning, and performance management systems are executed effectively. Also, participating in interviews and hiring of talent to strengthen the organization.
- Successfully establishing and maintaining professional relationships with company vendors, suppliers, warehouses, and co-packers.
- Working directly with the Distribution Center Operations Managers to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction of shipments.
- Responding to inventory inaccuracies by working with the team to identify root cause and providing oversight in finding solutions as well as correcting inventory control processes.
- Ensuring both 3rd party vendors and internal partners are held accountable for inventory accuracy and order execution.
- Managing and analyzing data and key metrics for driving improved business results and finding innovative solutions to complex problems.
- Providing recommendations to the Distribution Center Manager and Supply Chain Leadership in matters regarding possible 3PL partners and decisions regarding the continuation of contracts.
- Developing and implementing continuous improvement projects that produce cost savings and efficiency gains.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
- 5+ years of experience in distribution using a Warehouse Management System.
- Proven track record of leveraging the PDCA cycle for inventory control to improve site performance working with the entire team.
- Understanding of Warehousing and Logistics processes or in a high paced, complex operational environment.
- Experience attracting, developing, coaching, and promoting a high performing team.
- Strong business, analytical and financial acumen as it relates to the impact of inventory control on the overall business.
- Ability to develop and analyze process/business scorecards to leverage data and KPI’s to drive business improvements.
- Good written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organization. Must be able to present complex data in simple, cohesie form to allow for effective decision making.
- A deep understanding of inventory control process and the ability to translate that understanding to the rest of the site leadership team and overall staff.
- Ability to build the business by applying improvement strategies to major initiatives while maintaining an understanding of the product and consumer.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, resourcefulness and the ability to adjust to changes on a regular basis.
- Good project/program management skills.
- Ability to build and establish credibility both internally and externally.
