Wacom is seeking an IT Business Analyst to enhance the alignment between business processes and information technology on our ecommerce platform. The IT BA will help plan, organize, schedule and implement store enhancements as well as technology improvement projects in accordance with Wacom’s business needs and project management methodology. In this role you will utilize your knowledge and experience with global ecommerce processes to establish system requirements, feature requirements and functional requirements.
As a Business Analyst, you must be effective and organized with outstanding technical, analytical and problem-solving skills. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills. The successful candidate will have the ability to collaborate and build effective working relationships with other team members, management, and outside vendors in a global setting.
This position can be based in our Portland, OR, office, hybrid, or fully remote.
What you will be doing:
- Working with product management and business stakeholder teams to map technology solutions to business needs in a global multi-store, multi-language, and multi-platform environment
- Facilitate requirements gathering using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process descriptions, scenarios, task and workflow analysis to achieve the stated business objective
- Interpreting and translating business needs into clear and detailed Business Requirements (Use Cases, Functional Specifications or workflows) and break them down into development tasks
- Collaborating with developers and stakeholders to establish a product vision and analyze the tradeoffs between goals and technical system constraints
- Help maintain the product backlog and prioritization based on ROI and business demands.
- Utilizing your ecommerce knowledge, serve as a subject matter expert for the business unit to provide technical competency, documentation, and training to apply and leverage application functionality
- Interacting professionally with a diverse group (executives, managers, and subject matter experts) in a global business environment.
- Working in a dynamic environment with minimum oversight
- Supporting projects throughout the solution development life cycle, from establishing vision and scope to validating requirements in the testing phase. Projects include unit testing, user acceptance testing, system integration testing, project close out, etc
- Communicating day-to-day decisions, priorities, and relevant project information to appropriate levels of staff
- Assist product/project manager with development, update and tracking of project management processes and deliverables (e.g., detailed task lists, project schedule, issue logs, status reporting, ongoing monitoring and reporting)
Skills you bring:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required, preferably with focus in information systems and technology
- Three to five years of experience in business analysis, requirements management and the software development lifecycle.
- At least one year ecommerce focused experience required.
- Experience with ecommerce platform required. Magento experience strongly preferred.
- A comprehensive understanding the role of the business analyst in the software development methodologies and frameworks (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum). Scrum Master duties based on experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. The ability to interact professionally with a diverse group (executives, managers, and subject matter experts) in a global business environment
- A thorough understanding of how to interpret and translate business needs into clear and detailed Business Requirements (User Stories, Use Cases, Functional Specifications or workflows) and break them down into development tasks
- In-depth working knowledge of software including: Atlassian: JIRA, Confluence and Zephyr | MS Office | Visio
- Knowledge and experience leveraging both IT solutions and business process improvements. Must understand technical problems in relation to the current and future business environment
- Display sound judgment and strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
- Demonstrated leadership ability in influencing people
- Experience working in global business environment within a matrixed organizational environment, rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities
- Availability to work flexible hours as needed and to travel occasionally
Experience with any of the following is highly desirable:
- ERP system (like SAP) is preferred.

Pay: $73,984.85 - $90,880.47 per year
