As a Systems Engineer responsibilities include, but will not be limited to:


Design and develop Linux client distros ensuring OS configurations, applications and drivers are integrated using Industry standard toolsets and process.

Demonstrating technical leadership across client operating systems, virtual device infrastructure (Azure Virtual Desktop), endpoint device manageability, cloud infrastructure, connectivity, security and overall reliability of the client environment, in particular with Linux OS.

Deliver high quality service to customers by solving complex technical problems and helping to proactively prevent new issues.

Collaborate on cross-team and cross-product technical issues by working with resources from other groups.

Maintaining a secure, stable, and up to date configuration for Linux client devices.

Evaluation and implementation of new capabilities on Intel Systems with particular emphasis on Linux client.

Definition of requirements and design for technical solutions based on the strategic direction of the organization.

Partnership with other Intel Teams and with external Third-Party vendors.

Designs and develops solutions that enable Linux client users to onboard multiple Linux distros on clients and operate with required IT infrastructure. Solutions must enhance productivity, provide outstanding user experience, deliver reliable performance, and maintain information security.

Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur.

Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgement.

Member of IT team delivering PC devices that optimize Intel employee and contingent worker productivity in the workplace.

Design, build, implement, and manage PC productivity solutions on endpoint clients across the enterprise.


On site occasionally work is an option for the candidate if there is an Intel site close to the candidate's location.


Qualifications


Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
4+ years of experience in Linux installation and maintenance in an enterprise environment

2+ years of experience in:
Python programming
Shell scripting

Preferred Qualifications:


Experience with:


Linux configuration management systems like Ansible or Puppet
Microsoft Active Directory and/or Azure Active Directory integration of Linux clients
PKI and certificate services
Integrating Linux clients into 802.1X protected networks
Virtual desktop infrastructure environments for providing Windows applications to Linux clients
Configuring and managing Linux under WSL2.
Linux as a client OS, Hardware, Software, drivers, etc.
Client manageability, data analytics, and security knowledge/skills will be key to your success as an IT Linux Client Engineer (7+ years of experience would be preferred)
BASH/ZSH/CSH scripting

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado, New York, Washington, California: $102,120.00-$169,020.00

Working Model


This role is available as a fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need. This role may also be available as our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
