We are seeking a hands-on IT Leader responsible for planning, budgeting, and providing strategic direction across the organization’s technology platforms and systems. This position requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and a strong technical background who enjoys the challenge of solving practical problems while handling a number of variables.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct the day-today operations of computer systems, networks, programs, infrastructure, security, databases, and general help desk functions.

  • Oversee planning and maintenance of data technology operations, including computer hardware, software, and telecommunications.

  • Participate in the evaluation, development, and recommendation of solutions specific to the entire organization as well as specific solutions for individual departments.

  • Discover and implement innovative and strategic IT opportunities. Oversee transition to new platforms and systems.

  • Protect networks, servers, databases, and company systems from security threats and oversee initiatives to eliminate risks of adverse cyber activities.

  • Participate with end users and management to evaluate requests and ensure all staff have the IT tools and equipment needed to do their jobs effectively.

  • Lead and direct the work of IT employees. Responsible for personnel actions including hiring, training & development, and performance management.

  • Coordinate large projects, including the rollout of approved hardware and software with a focus on security first.

  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure issues are resolved in a timely and efficient way.

  • Work with senior leadership to develop technology plans, policies and procedures in alignment with company goals and standards.

  • Contribute to strategic planning, direction, budgeting, and goal setting for the department in collaboration with senior leadership.

  • Take personal responsibility for ongoing continual personal development.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field with at least 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

  • Microsoft software and reporting, specifically Microsoft Azure;
  • Developing annual business plans for IT;
  • Running regular checks on network and data security;
  • Identifying and acting on opportunities to improve and update software and systems;
  • Developing and implementing IT policies and best practice guides for the organization;
  • Maintaining employee training programs and workshops;
  • Conducting regular system audits;
  • Running and sharing reports with senior leadership;
  • Overseeing and major IT projects including system updates, upgrades, migrations and outages;
  • Managing IT budget;
  • Identifying opportunities for team training and skills advancement;
  • Prior management experience preferred.
