Position: IT Systems Engineer
Department: Information Technology
Reports To: Director of Network Operations

Primary Function: *

At Asembia, we rely on our IT systems to help our business transform the shape of the pharmaceutical industry. As an IT Systems Engineer, you will work corroboratively with the infrastructure team to build, maintain, and enhance a modern, secure IT environment. Responsibilities will include servers, networking, storage, domain management and administration of Office365.
Candidates will be expected to have knowledge of current IT industry trends.

Job Scope and Major Responsibilities: *

Perform day-to-day administration of the domain and network infrastructure.

  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network related issues.
  • Assist in the development, installation, and upgrade procedures of new and current servers, IT security systems, networking, and hybrid cloud infrastructure.
  • Work with our 3rd party datacenters on changes, requests, and remote-hand tasks.
  • Ensure asset management for IT hardware, software and equipment is maintained.
  • Availability outside of business hours to perform scheduled upgrades, changes, or any other task which would interfere with daily operations.
  • Compliance with the provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 and its implementing regulations, as amended (“HIPAA”)

  • Required:
  • Microsoft Windows domain environment
  • Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, IIS
  • Azure Compute, Networking, Storage
  • Network traffic routing, VPN’s & VLAN’s
  • VMWare ESXi
  • Optional Plus
  • Cisco UCCE & Finesse
  • Cisco Switches & ASA
  • PowerShell scripting knowledge
  • On-site to cloud migration
  • Former employment at an MSP
  • Self-motivated, able to take the initiative to solve potential issues.
  • Strong technical knowledge of networking and Windows operating systems.
  • Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols and standards.
  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure deployment, setup and testing.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, research, and present solutions for IT issues.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and accurate documentation.
  • Proven analytical, evaluative and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks during high-pressure circumstances.
  • Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
