Description:This position is in support of the Lockheed Martin Mission IT support team based in Fort Worth, Texas. As an operations team member, this position successfully applies technology to meet service commitments for our primary clients; Lockheed Martin (LM) Aeronautics Business Area (BA) and the Enterprise Business & Digital Transformation organization.

Specifically, the candidate will support Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Mission IT infrastructure as well as serve as lead for Cloud migration/transition on a specific network. Position is also responsible for providing operational, sustainment, and remediation activities to meet customer regulations and compliance directives. This IT Systems Engineer supports the Integrated Systems Mission IT networks and subsequent transition to Azure. Role will provide systems administration to numerous elements within the Mission IT network, including infrastructure, cloud, pipelines, automation, containers, etc. Collaborates within the Infrastructure Directorate, as well as across Enterprise IT and the Business Functions in order to understand business needs and objectives. Works with the Domain Architects to ensure solutions align with overall architecture and guidelines, leveraging solutions developed by enterprise teams, and sponsoring innovation.

The successful candidate must have strong inter-personal communication skills and be able to explain procedures and concepts to others both in writing and verbally. Generally, work will be performed virtually, including some off-shift hours, weekends, and occasional travel for on-site tasking.

The position also supports a 24 X 7 weekly on-call rotation schedule.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Expertise across a number of IT capabilities (e.g. data, infrastructure, integration, security)
  • Understanding of modern technology frameworks (Cloud, Container, etc...)
  • Experience working with RHEL and Windows Server
  • Knowledge of VMWare, Virtualization
  • Experience with Public and Private cloud offerings
  • Experience working on teams in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Strategic mindset and "big-picture" view to ensure tactical operations is cohesive with strategic alignment
  • Strong customer service focus with experience in face-to-face and virtual customer interactions
  • Available 24/7 for issue resolution on production systems
  • US Citizenship

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
