REPORTS TO: IT Supervisor LOCATION: Plano FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

The IT Support Technician is responsible for monitoring all data processing equipment and maintaining all user units, including the installation and maintenance of computer hardware and software. The incumbent creates programs to enhance productivity and facilitate the exchange of data.


The incumbent is expected to communicate professionally with peers, supervisors, subordinates, vendors, customers, and the public, and to be respectful and courteous in the conduct of this position.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Essential job functions include the following. Other functions may be assigned as business conditions change.

SUPPORT

  • Service as first point of contact for employees seeking technical support
  • Build, repair, and install computers and other office equipment
  • Laptop setup and servicing
  • End-user support for Microsoft Office Products, Skype, WebEx and other software
  • Utilize helpdesk ticketing system to track, update, and escalate incoming issues
  • Assist remote users with hardware and connectivity issues

OTHER (all done on as needed basis unless specified)

  • Re-imaging of machines
  • Contribute to the daily workflow with regular and punctual attendance
  • Ability to perform all assigned duties with minimal supervision



NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs software and operating system tests.
  • Trains employee users on new software applications.
  • Performs related or other assigned duties as required or directed.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education:
College degree in information systems or related field required in the absence of equivalent work experience.


Certification(s) Required: None.


Minimum Experience:
Two years experience in a job involving system support preferred.


Other Qualifications:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Webex, Skype, Access, Windows 7, Windows 10, VMWare, MS Server 2012, MS Server 2016 and any other programs necessary for user support.

Effective oral and written communication skills.

High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.

Ability to project a professional image and positive attitude in any work environment.

Ability to comply with privacy and confidentiality standards.

Ability to be flexible, work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Ability to solve problems with professionalism and patience.

Ability to operate typical office equipment.

Working knowledge of general office procedures.
