Job description
The Electrician conducts, maintains, tests and repairs electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components. Apply knowledge of electrical/electronics and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and apply skills in restoring equipment to operations. Provide skilled mechanical and electrical/electronic support to all areas of manufacturing and facilities. Responsibilities also include:
- Install, start up and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown in line with OSHA requirements
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment, including, but not limited to programmable controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gages and test equipment
- Advise Operators and line mechanics of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with equipment and components
- Be experienced and trained in Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures and Arc Flash Safety
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during machine service
- Have ability to directly supervise unlicensed individuals/apprentices performing electrical modification or projects
Minimum Experience/Education Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minnesota Class A Journeyman Electrician License
- Two (2) years of vocational/technical education, preferable in electrical repair
- Excellent mechanical and mathematical/analytical skills
- Must be able to work independently and be a problem solver
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, bend, and stoop for up to 8 hours
- Comfortable working at heights in an aerial lift
- Ability to work 5 consecutive 8 hour shifts and ability to work overtime as required
