YOUR ROLE IN OUR MISSION

The role of the Joybelles Director is the planning, development, and implementation of the Joybelles choir.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include tasks such as:

  • Directs and provides musical instruction for the Joybelles and assigned musicians
  • Consults with the Campus Music Director regarding selection of choral music
  • Recruits singers and adult helpers
  • Knowledge of vocal technique for young singers
  • Coordinates rehearsal schedules for Joybelles and assigned musicians
  • Responsible for assisting Campus Music Director completing appropriate room requisitions and other administrative forms for Joybelles
  • Communicates timely and effectively all rehearsal schedules, choir guidelines, and other pertinent information with Child, Parents, and Campus Music Director
  • Oversees weekly Joybelles voicemail recording
  • Schedules time to learn and practice material for assigned Joybelles rehearsals
  • All other duties as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS AND IDEAL CHARACTERISTICS

Must have the following:

  • Background in Education, Ministry, or other related field specifically working with youth
  • Some College Education preferred
  • Oral and written communication skills

  • A mature walk with Christ, evidenced by a strong and well-articulated testimony, personal spiritual discipline, consistency in public and in private, a commitment to moral purity, and healthy relationships with others
  • Ability to think critically, using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusion or approaches to problems; organize, plan and prioritize work, and manage time while orienting on details with an innate ability to multitask and work well in a fast-paced environment while being flexible;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with administration, supervisor, staff, volunteers, congregation and the community
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before small and large groups
  • Ability to effectively read, interpret and present information to top management, the congregation, volunteers and the community
  • Knowledge of word processing, desktop publishing and spreadsheets. Ability to operate personal computer, calculator, copy and fax machines, etc.
