Job description
Under general direction, the Junior Accountant will be responsible for assisting in maintaining, preparing, and reconciling accounts and other financial documents for multiple properties. This position will require you to have a broad understanding of basic accounting principles and excellent communication skills. This person will also help to ensure all tasks are performed in a timely manner and within the parameters of the procedures set in place. This is a full t time position, Monday - Friday 8:30-4:30, with some flexibility.
Requirements:Responsibilities and Duties:
- Reconcile various bank accounts by compiling and balancing financial information
- Assists in month end closing for multiple properties
- Corrects accounting errors and posts journal entry adjustments
- Analyzes and records adjustments for A/R and A/P
- Records prepaid expenses and accruals
- Recording payroll activity for multiple locations bi-weekly
- Process vendor inquiries and maintaining vendor files
- Maintains accounting related spreadsheets
- Assists with processing and generating monthly financials
- Completes other accounting tasks as needed
Skills and Qualifications:
- Firm grasp of basic and intermediate accounting principles
- Ability to perform elementary mathematical operations
- Ability to meet strict deadlines on a consistent basis
- Comfortable handling and storing confidential financial information
- Possess excellent organizational abilities and able to pay close attention to detail
- Ability to compile professional and thorough accounting reports
- Produce high-quality work regularly
- Possess strong communication skills
- Working knowledge of Excel and Word
- Knowledge/Proficiency in Quickbooks and Yardi accounting systems a plus
- Associates degree required, Bachelors degree in Accounting preferred
