Accounting Manager
Talento has partnered with a fast-growing general contractor specializing in commercial and residential construction projects in the Dallas area. This person will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations of the company, with a focus on construction-related accounting practices. They will work closely with the senior management team to ensure accurate financial reporting, timely billing and collections, and effective cost management.

This person will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations of the company, with a focus on construction-related accounting practices. They will work closely with the senior management team to ensure accurate financial reporting, timely billing and collections, and effective cost management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the company's general ledger, including monthly reconciliations and journal entries
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments
- Develop and maintain construction project accounting processes, including job costing, change order management, and budget tracking
- Manage the company's financial reporting, including preparation of monthly financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
- Oversee the annual audit process, including preparation of schedules and working papers
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies and policies to support the company's growth objectives
- Manage and develop a team of accounting professionals, providing coaching and mentoring as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred
- Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a management role
- Experience in the construction industry, specifically with general contracting, is required
- Strong understanding of construction accounting practices, including job costing and change order management
- Proven ability to manage and develop a team of accounting professionals
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex accounting issues
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software applications
