We’re looking for a Jr Level Windows Engineer to help our efforts within the Solutions & Services Group at Lenovo. In this role you will work directly with the International SSG Services - Advanced Service Delivery team. You will perform upgrades from Windows 10 to Windows 11, (Windows PE is up and coming so any experience here is a nice to have to be ahead of the curve), overseeing all aspects of driver maintenance, inventory, and improving automation by writing basic PowerShell scripts for Lenovo products (I.e. ThinkPads).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to manage and maintain driver and other hardware related content for support of global teams who manage and maintain custom images for Lenovo customers.
  • Imaging - Driver Updates - Jr Level Windows Engineering
  • Manage inventory of many models of Lenovo PC’s and regularly test to validate driver changes with existing models and add support for new models.
  • Support and respond quickly to driver related issues or needs that may arise with customers or in manufacturing.
  • Provide excellent communication around scope of updates and known issues on regular basis (and as needed) to global teams.

Basic Requirements:

  • Write basic computer driver commands and have the ability to further automate content creation through basic scripting.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Scripting experience - PowerShell preferred, other scripting languages also considered.
  • Excellent understanding of Windows 10/11 OS deployments (unattend.xml) and automated driver installation
  • Windows PE and servicing (Windows ADK, DISM)
  • Understanding and usage of JSON, XML, INI formats
  • Testing ability to improve efficiency of processes and frequency of updates would be nice to have (or can be taught).
  • Good verbal and written communicator.
  • Good team player (wants to support team well and able to work with extended teams when issues arise)
  • Self-motivated and curious - able to work independently and good problem solving and debugging skills

The base salary range for this position in Colorado, New York City, Nevada, and Washington, is $60k - $81k. Individuals may also be considered for bonus and/or commission. Lenovo’s various benefits can be found on www.lenovobenefits.com.
