Juvenile Justice Overnight Supervisor
Job description
NFI Massachusetts Inc., a non-profit human services agency, is currently seeking a Juvenile Justice Overnight Supervisor for our youth program located in Peabody, MA.
This program is a residential DYS program for adolescent males referred by the Department of Youth Services. It provides counseling, education, life skills and pre-vocational skills training in a well-supervised and structured residential setting. Rehabilitation followed by supported community reintegration is the ultimate goal of the program.
This is a highly responsible position in the Criminal Justice System, and a great opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience for careers in law enforcement, corrections, or probation. The employee is expected to perform all the duties in the optimum responsible manner.
We are seeking dedicated and qualified candidates with strong leadership skills to provide direct care to youth served within the program. The goal is to provide these youth support, mentoring, guidance and to demonstrate positive role modeling so they may elect healthier choices to and learn new skills to use upon their discharge from the program.
Hourly: $22.00/hr
Supervisor Job Responsibilities:
- Oversight of Youth Counselors.
- Running structured program shifts.
- Administrative oversight of daily tasks and procedures.
- Provide ongoing support, guidance and role modeling for staff and clients.
Job Requirements:
- At least one year of residential counselor experience working with a similar population.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice preferred.
- High energy level, superior interpersonal skills and ability to function in a team atmosphere.
- Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle is a must.
- Must be 21 years of age.
