BEACON Afterschool Program, Helen M. Knight Elementary School

Activity leaders lead five clubs per week for students in grades 1-6 and work with Kindergarten students Monday through Thursday. BEACON Afterschool is a fluid educational environment. We are seeking someone with adaptability and flexibility. Professional development and on the job training is provided.

This position runs Monday-Friday following the Grand County School District school year. Position hours are Monday through Thursday 1-5:30 pm and Friday 12-3:30 pm, which includes one hour per day of paid on-site prep time.

Open positions:

Hourly - $19.42/hr for 5-25 hours per week

Part-time with benefits - $19.42/hr for 30 hours per week

Core Job Responsibilities

• Plan and lead daily enrichment clubs

• Provide a safe, positive learning environment with fun, educational activities for students

• Prepare lesson plans that meet program requirements

• Show up on time and ready to teach

• Able to work in a shared space

• Assist with Family Events as requested

Skills and Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively as needed

• Follow-through with commitment to program schedule for the whole school year

• Ability to meet the needs of students as individuals

• Enjoys working with elementary-aged students

• High School Diploma or GED required
