REAL ESTATE CREDIT OVERVIEW
KKR Real Estate Credit was formed in January 2015 to invest in real estate credit products and complement KKR Real Estate’s private equity platforms. Within KKR Real Estate Credit, we seek opportunities where we have a sourcing, underwriting or execution advantage by leveraging KKR’s brand, industry knowledge and relationships. KKR Real Estate Credit currently invests through six separately capitalized vehicles across our Direct Lending and Securities portfolios and consists of 50+ dedicated professionals based in New York, San Francisco, Houston and Dallas.
KKR has developed a dedicated services platform, K-Star Asset Management LLC (“K-Star”), to support asset management, loan origination, securities investing, risk management and client experience for its real estate credit franchise as it continues to scale. The K-Star team will include industry specialists to oversee special servicing, stabilized loan asset management, transitional loan asset management, and investment oversight across KKR’s real estate credit portfolio.
POSITION OVERVIEW
K-Star is seeking a talented, strategic and dynamic legal paraprofessional that is process-oriented to support the new and growing servicing business. This person must be an exceptional communicator and have the ability to build strong partnerships across the various KKR businesses, including the Firm’s real estate credit originations, legal, finance and asset management teams.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead transition of commercial loans from origination to asset management teams, including tracking post-closing requirements and deliverables (closing sets, recorded documents and originals) and inputting loan details in asset management data programs
- Manage third-party report processes, including with respect to appraisals, Phase I’s, PCRs and zoning reports
- Coordinate and review third party provider engagement and reliance letters
- Manage due diligence processes and deliverables
- Assist with document drafting and negotiations, including with respect to NDAs, reservation of rights letters, and other loan correspondence
- Coordinate on KYC information requests and production
QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred
- Significant commercial loan experience in a comparable role at a nationally-recognized asset manager, servicer, relevant public company or law firm
- Experience with commercial real estate finance products and mortgage loans required
- Mastery level in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Self-starter with goal oriented management of tasks and responsibilities and a willingness to take on additional roles, as needed
- Team player capable of working in a way that reflects the company’s culture and core values
- Superior analytical, quantitative and communication skills
- Strong drive and initiative coupled with ability to multi-task and prioritize competing priorities
- Skilled at developing and maintaining personal, social and business relationships representing KKR in a professional manner
