Acara Solutions is seeking a Onsite Service Engineer for our client located in Austin, TX (Pflugerville, TX).

Contract to Hire
8-5 M-F
Rate: $25-$27 hourly

Summary:
Onsite Service Engineer - Gas Abatement System (Austin, TX)
  • The Onsite Service Engineer is responsible for providing product support and technical know-how to customers at assigned customer sites.
  • Diagnoses and remedies faults, performs preventative maintenance, installs and commissions of company's Gas Abatement System products.
  • Completes all tasks with precision while ensuring safe practices are upheld.
  • Performs technical support and troubleshooting on vacuum pumps, abatement, gas, and chemical delivery systems to maintain and increase revenue for both service and sales divisions.
  • Performs gas abatement system checks and processes gas measurement utilizing a gas analyzer.
  • Analyzes the need for parts replacement, and provides recommendation accordingly
  • Completes the information needed for set up, and maintains reports as needed
  • Comprehends the use of test equipment including various test meters, hand tools, and power tools
  • Completes quality reviews, and manages parts inventory
  • Works professionally and develops customer relations.
  • Understands and adheres to all site requirements.
  • Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance; works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
  • Respectfully takes direction from supervisor/ manager; other duties as assigned.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use stairways to climb to multiple floors within office building, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands and fingers to type or dial, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. This position requires frequent computer use. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.



Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • BS or BA degree
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, chemical, or electrical engineering
  • Able to read engineering drawings and electrical diagrams. Competent in the use of test equipment including various test meters, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Possess basic computer skills which includes thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Possess excellent customer interfacing and communication skills; able to clearly and effectively communicate and relay report information
  • Must have a positive attitude, be energetic and enthusiastic, and possess a strong willingness to learn and a commitment to excellence
  • A self-starter who can set priorities, demonstrate initiative and the ability to get the job done. Must be capable of following instructions and exercising good independent judgment when appropriate
  • May be required to work in confined or awkward spaces for extended periods of time. Will be required to complete training to work using approved fall protection equipment
  • Successful completion of Physical Capability assessment required, clean driving record.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to speak distinctly and see/hear clearly

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • B.S. degree in Engineering; mechanical, chemical, or electrical preferred;
  • Experience within semiconductor industry is a plus.
