Laboratory Operations Support Specialist 2nd Shift


Summary
:

Under direct supervision, support laboratory operations by performing documentation review of source data prior to release to the Quality Department. Assist supervisor in administrative duties as well as with investigating and reviewing various reports and logs.


Primary responsibilities for role
:

  • Perform department review of source data prior to release to the Quality department
  • Manage the investigation, resolution and review of the Pending Log, Import Failure Log, Outstanding Report, Quarantine report and LMS sample cancellation approvals
  • Perform review of equipment re-qualifications and maintenance documentation
  • Perform review of documentation for release testing of critical testing supplies prior to Quality department review
  • Perform daily checks and monthly review of maintenance logs
  • Manage tracking and trending of invalid and aborted runs/tests
  • Log and track operations key performance indicators and provide data to management
  • Assess, address and document temperature deviatons
  • Plan and coordinate preventative maintenance and service calls between laboratory staff and vendor.
  • Assist with end of month inventory counts
  • Manage and review proficiency, blind, and comparison testing
  • Ensure all incoming reagent shipments are received, stored and logged accurately and completely
  • Accurately complete detailed documentation as required by established procedures


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must be able to work in a team environment. Must be detail oriented and keep a high degree of focus even when performing routine tasks.


Education

  • Bachelor degree required. Science related field highly preferred.


Experience

Typically requires a minimum of 1 year of experience performing quality assurance or high complexity testing. Experience in a plasma testing laboratory or blood establishment is preferred but not required.
