Knowledge and Experience:

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent credential.
• Must have satisfactory prior work and safety history.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with no restrictions (operator hours, alco sensor etc.)
• Ability to communicate in English, verbally and in writing, with relative ease.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and co-workers.
• Regular attendance and dependability are required.

Skills: Physical Factors

• Ability to pick up items weighing approximately 50 pounds on a single lift regularly.
• Work involves walking, climbing on rail equipment and ladders.
• Requires use of both hands to push/pull, lift, handle, feel and / or reaching with both hands and both arms.
• Working at various sites in all weather conditions.
• Ability to perform all duties mentioned above and others as required.

Key Accountabilities:

• Must complete all work in compliance with FRA, MBTA and Keolis Commuter Services standards.
• Clean shop facilities, locomotive interiors, engine and HEP rooms, exteriors, and cabs.
• Sand, fuel, and stock locomotives.
• Move materials to work Remove refuse and some hazardous materials.
• Operate floor sweeping equipment, forklifts, heavy equipment, on rail equipment, tractors, and motor vehicles.
• Deliver materials to outside layover facilities.
• Comply with all related safety rules and procedures and report all hazards as required.
• Must work in confined spaces and wear and work with a fall arrest system.
• Must be able to climb vertical surfaces to a height of approximately 12’ and to stand on flat surfaces using a fall arrest system.
• Must document job tasks or work performed manually or electronically and submit as required.
• Must be able to travel and work at all Commuter Rail locations in Massachusetts and Rhode Island in all weather conditions.

• Attend and participate in all assigned training, specifically safety and security related.
• Other Duties as assigned during emergencies.
