Hawker Pacific Aerospace, Sun Valley, CA is seeking a Landing Gear (LDG) Components Technician to support its Small Parts Cell department. Selected applicant will be responsible for preparing and processing aircraft parts through various processes found throughout SPC in accordance with the Component Maintenance Manual (CMM) and any additional Technical Data provided. Read and follow paint diagrams per CMM and/or Standard Overhaul Practices Manual (SOPM) or other customer specification(s) and requirements. Ensures and verifies quantities, part numbers and serial numbers are consistent with Work Order Travelers/Work Instructions provided.

This position may be assigned to one or more departments depending upon the company needs at the time.

Essential Duties

This individual has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned task. May be assigned some or all duties indicated below depending on job progression level.

  • Prepare small parts for work through masking, blasting, cadmium plating, and paint.
  • Maintain all consumables used in the SPC Dept. (i.e. media, nozzles solvents, etc.). Routinely order those needed supplies through the Supervisor.
  • Regularly empty and clean the blasters used in paint removal and plating.
  • Work from detailed blueprints, sketches, written instructions per the work scope operation(s) to meet O.E.M specification(s), requirements, and configurations.
  • Report all non-conformances to appropriate personnel.
  • Perform routine maintenance of their safety equipment.
  • Measure parts to ensure part requirements.
  • Identify and remove corrosion and surface defects per specs.
  • Use a wide variety of precision measuring equipment to inspect the completed work.
  • Install bushings in aircraft components using hydraulic presses.
  • Hone and ream parts as required to size and maintain tolerances given.
  • Deburr all sharp edges from bushings installed.
  • Capability of identifying basic metal types. Effectively demonstrate the ability to prepare plating surfaces of all parts; mask, blast, clean, set up, and plate Cadmium and other coatings, as required.
  • Must have a proven safety record, passed the “Respirator Fit Test” and experienced with PPE used in plating with hazardous chemicals. (i.e. hearing, eye, hand, respirator as required).
  • Analyze problems with Cadmium and be able to provide corrective actions to remedy problems.
  • Improve processes and tooling in order to streamline processes.
  • Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
  • Adhere to all the rules, regulations, and safety guidelines.
  • Responsibility to work with LEAN Manufacturing principles.
  • Performs other duties as required by business needs.


Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience: One (1) years related experience.

Preferred: Landing Gear and Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Great analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Superior presentation and negotiation skills. Strong adaptability and capacity to work in fast-paced environments. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Attention to detail and ability to multitask tasks from multiple administrators. SAP Knowledge.
