Officers have opportunities within and outside our patrol division. Specialty assignments include the criminal investigations division, homelessness outreach program, motorcycle/traffic officers and school resource officer. The patrol officers also have the opportunity for specialty instructor and skill positions throughout the agency.

SALARY BASE / PREMIUM PAY
~ Monthly salary range $7,454- $9,058 (base salary)
~ Specialty positions additional 3%, SRO, CID and Community Outreach positions additional
4%, FTO $42 per day while training a recruit
~ Education pay additional 2.5% - 7% depending on degree
~ Longevity pay additional 1% - 4.5%
~ Foreign language specialty pay additional 3%

~ City 3% match into Deferred Compensation Plan Physical Requirements
Candidates receiving a passing score on the supplemental questionnaire will be invited to a physical agility test. The physical agility demonstration is a multi-dimensional process designed to test for minimum levels of endurance, strength and flexibility. This fitness evaluation will be rated pass/fail only. Minimum Qualifications
Successful completion of the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission Basic Training Academy or approved basic training program (see WAC 139-05-210) within in the last thirty-six (36) months of full-time paid service as a sworn police officer in a civilian governmental jurisdiction. Out of state applicants must successfully complete the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission Equivalency Examination within one (1) year after employment Job Advertisement
