Includes every other weekend and holiday. Days during the week are 1pm - 9:30pm and the weekend hours are 6am -2:30pm.

If probationary period is completed with good attendance and work performance, a sign on bonus will start of $500.00 every 3 months for a year to total $2,000.00.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Collects soiled laundry, sorts, and removes stains.

2. Operates washers and dryers using established formulas and following instructions for operation of machines.

3. Washes contaminated laundry according to special procedure to prevent contamination and spread of disease.

4. Removes and sorts laundry from dryers.

5. Folds, counts, and stacks laundry according to department or unit. Shelves laundry in supply room.

6. Maintains records of laundry usage by department.

7. Puts laundry on carts and distributes to departments according to their daily predetermined needs.

8. Inspects laundry for wear and tear and disposes of or sets aside for repairs.

9. Reports laundry needs to Supervisor.

10. Cleans equipment and work area daily as needed.

11. Maintains quality of work while keeping up with work flow.

12. Attends inservices and staff meetings.

13. Work weekends and/or Holiday’s as needed.

14. Cross train in housekeeping.

15. Recognize your role as part of the QAPI efforts of your organization.

16. Attend trainings to build understanding and capacity to undertake QAPI work.

17. Carry out QAPI roles and responsibilities as assigned.

18. Follow established policies and procedures in support of QAPI efforts.

19. Look for and share with leadership ideas for improvement in the organization.

20. Communicate to leadership upon witnessing a positive outcome of a QAPI project or detecting barriers preventing project success.

21. Support QAPI efforts both verbally and non-verbally (i.e., via actions and attitude), including adjusting performance and practice in accordance with QAPI initiatives and findings.

22. Recognize your role for Trauma Informed Care: Promotes a culture of safety, empowerment and healing; recognizes that everyone who interacts at Rest Haven may have past traumatic experience and protects trauma survivors from being re-traumatized.

23. Recognize your role for Compliance and Ethics: Participates in annual compliance and ethics training. Follows code of conduct reporting any compliance and ethics concerns.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Other duties as assigned by Laundry Supervisor/Designee including Housekeeping and Maintenance Helper duties as needed.

2. Picks up bagged personal laundry from soiled utility rooms on weekends.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
1. Well light ventilated work area.

2. Stands, bends, lifts, pushes, pulls, walks and moves arms constantly during work day.

3. Exposed to heat and steam.

4. Exposed to infection when handling contaminated linens.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

2. Ability to follow directions.

3. Adequate physical health to perform essential functions.

4. Sense of responsibility.

5. Personal cleanliness and good grooming habits.

6. Ability to communicate and cooperate with others.

7. Criminal background clearance Act 169 and Act 13.
