GENERAL SUMMARY

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens for the hotel and other venues on property.

PAY RATE: $17.00 hr

CORE SCOPE OF POSITION

• Accepts deliveries and works with Laundry Manager/Lead to inventory all supplies and linen.

• Adheres to all safety standards.

• Sorts dirty laundry into proper washing groups.

• Washes, dries and folds linen per prescribed methods and procedures.

• Assists in distribution of linens to Hotel and other venues on property.

• Notifies Manager and Lead of mechanical failures and cleaning problems needing attention.

• Attends staff meetings for updates on ongoing hotel activities and promotions.

• Participates in company’s safety program and may instruct others in the proper and safe practices.

• Follows company and departmental policies and standard operating procedures, and applicable governmental laws and regulations.

• Ensures that a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment is maintained.

• Performs all other duties as requested by Laundry Manager or Lead.

SUPERVISION

• Does not provide supervision to others.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Familiar with housekeeping, including sanitation, laundry operation, and internal guest service.

• Basic Knowledge of how to use and maintain Laundry equipment.

• Detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and values teamwork.

• Ability to effectively communicate with team members verbally or in written form.

• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule according to business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION

• High school degree or general education degree (GED) preferred.

• Must be able to be certified in blood borne pathogens/bio-hazardous material clean-up (training will be provided).

EXPERIENCE

• Three or more months of related and/or training.
