Job description

Alabama Safari Park is a 350-acre zoological facility with many different species of exotic animals. We have a very diverse set of equipment and tools we use to perform anything from everyday tasks to complete habitat construction. A wide variety of general knowledge is desirable for this position, as well as 2+ years of leadership experience. Some of the equipment used at our facility: backhoe, skid steer, all terrain vehicles, trucks, flatbeds, trailers, etc. Knowledge of upkeep and maintenance of listed equipment is preferred. Basic construction knowledge, organizational skills, creative thinking, and automotive knowledge is also preferred. Some welding experience is required.

Facilities Department Description:

Ensures that operations staff complete required duties and adhere to company standards.

- Coordinates with contractors to ensure proper completion of projects - Keeps maintenance department records and ensures other departments maintain their maintenance records: o Vehicle maintenance logs o Wagon inspection and repair logs o Equipment logs o HVAC logs

- Creates project proposals obtaining multiple quotes for needed labor, materials, hardware etc. - Manages department budget.

- Creates Purchase Orders for needed expenses over departmental monthly budget. - Creates and modifies Facilities staff schedule.

- Coordinates monthly supply requisition to facilitate better productivity.

- Oversees the supply of tools and materials for all Operations projects and responsibilities.

- Link between Operations staff and Park Director. - Communicate departments concerns and intentions between other departments.

- Teaches one class each year to a mandatory minimum number of staff such as use of fire extinguishers - Keeps maintenance work areas organized and clutter free.

- Maintains and repairs anything necessary within the park.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
