Job Summary:
The Lead Security Officer has oversight of all daily activities of security officers assigned on their shift. Provides real time direction and oversight. Point of contact with clinical and other leadership. Offers training support when indicated. Manages minor officer issues. Takes lead role during code greens and assaults. Demonstrates skills and competencies in performing all security functions. Responsible for reporting officer's performance and competencies discrepancies to the security supervisors. Has knowledge and understanding on how to operate all security equipment, computers, monitors, radios, telephones, TASER, body cameras, security vehicles and access controls and video equipment. Responsible for reporting all maintenance issues and equipment failures of all security systems and security equipment owned by OMCI to the security supervisors.

Minimum Requirements:
  • High School or GED
  • 1 - 3 Years of experience, analytical, organization & verbal communication
  • Valid Driver’s Licenses – required Upon Hire
  • Taser qualified. Appropriate qualification course provided by Olathe Health – required within 60 Days from date of hire
  • International Association of Hospital Safety & Security Basic Certification – required within 180 Days from date of hire
  • International Association of Hospital Safety & Security Advanced Certification – required within 1 Year from date of hire

Hourly rate beings at $21.65 and increases based on experience level.

  • Demonstrates flexibility required to meet changing priorities.
  • Maintains respectful working relationships with co-workers and encourages the team approach.
  • Approaches work in a manner that makes quality improvement a part of every activity.
  • Adheres to and/or maintains departmental policies and procedures, to be regulatory compliant with TJC, OSHA, safety standards, or other regulatory agencies.
