Our client is seeking a detail oriented and enthusiastic Legal Administrative Assistant for it's Buffalo office who will support the team to ensure that those in need are served by systems that are just, equitable and responsive.

The ideal candidate would prefer working as part of a collaborative and innovative team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Performing administrative tasks for the unit as well as providing backup for reception when needed (answering phones, greeting clients, etc).
  • Typing a variety of legal materials including court filings, petitions, pleadings, motions, memoranda, letters, and reports; ensuring all documents and enclosures are in proper processing order and grammatically correct.
  • Organize and maintain files/records; maintaining confidentiality of complex and/or sensitive matters.
  • Organize trainings for the unit.

Skills/Requirements to be successful in this role:

  • Legal services background or knowledge of general civil legal work
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) for client intake, client follow-up and attorney interface
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, Adobe, Excel and other technology
  • Highly organized, with an ability to review, process, and organize large amounts of information
  • Understanding of the court filing system and its requirements
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations and community resource knowledge
  • Ability to travel to meetings and hearings off-site and the ability to work in the evenings and weekends as required in order to best serve our clients
  • A second language is preferred, but not required.

Excellent benefits, hourly pay rate starting at $18/hr. based on a 35hr. work week and work-life balance!

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
