We are currently seeking a Full-Time Level 2 Cook for The Carroll Lutheran Village continuing care retirement community located in Ellicott City, MD. This position will work 5 days a week/every other weekend. The Carroll Lutheran Village Cooks will work as an integral part of our Culinary Services team, that delivers a warm, welcoming, and friendly approach to quality care and hospitality support for our older adult residents.

Job Duties:

• Follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving menu items
• Taste products, read menus, and estimate food requirements
• Maintain food production, keep records to ensure accurate plan production requirement, requisition supplies, and equipment.
• May be assigned to work in a venue which will require preparation and cooking food to order, including the ability to read the order and or prepare and cook food according to instructions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma, or GED
• Three years culinary experience required in a restaurant setting
• Culinary degree or certificate from an accredited institution
• Must be able to take verbal instructions on food required by the senior resident patrons
• Previous experience working in a Continued Care Retirement Community (CCRC) a plus
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Must be able to work a flexible shift
