About the Role

We are seeking an LGBTQ training lead to provide high-quality diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) consultation and trainings to one of our current U.S. federal agency clients on topics related to sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.

This role will provide the agency with the tools, techniques and management coaching to support greater employee engagement around LGBTQ topics and how to create equitable and inclusive social service systems. The goal of this role will be to provide training opportunities to improve diversity, equity, fairness, inclusion, empowerment, and accountability.

The candidate must be comfortable with producing and delivering pre-recording training modules and presentations. Candidate must have reliable internet access and own a personal laptop. The candidate will facilitate remote sessions in addition to in-person training sessions in the D.C. Metro Area. The trainer will be responsible for developing curriculum and providing their materials/presentations to the agency for review and revisions prior to training activities.

Candidate must have demonstrated experience with developing training curricula and materials.

Example modules that may be created by the candidate for this role are listed below:

  • How the LGBTQ community relates to race, equity, and inclusivity (intersectionality)
  • LGBTQ topics introductory training
  • How to support and affirm LGBTQ youth
  • LGBTQ youth mental health
  • Cultivating an LGBTQ-friendly workplace
  • Gender and Gender Affirming Care

Key Attributes/Qualifications we are looking for:

  • Passionate, flexible, curious, and driven teacher, trainer and consultant
  • Strong commitment to equity, social justice and restoring our communities
  • Candidates who identify as LGBTQ+ are encouraged to apply
  • At least five (5) years of experience developing custom trainings for clients
  • Past performance/experience providing similar training(s) to U.S. local, state, and/or federal government agencies
  • At least 2-3 contactable references
  • Knowledge of U.S. federal laws in support of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI)
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations etc)
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively
  • BS degree in education, human resources or relevant field

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $100.00 - $130.00 per hour
