Licensed Psychiatric Technicians (LPTs) ....do you want to make a difference in a child’s life? Have a rewarding position where you can help children and youth daily? We are looking for LPTs who can perform trauma-informed assessments in a new psychiatric stabilization unit.

ESU is a Medi-Cal funded program that provides assessment and screening services to youth either on a 5150 or voluntarily.

ESU is a 24/7 program with multiple 12-hour shifts available. Staff hired for full-time(36hr/wk) and are eligible for full time benefits. PT shifts also available. Competitive pay starts at $24-26/hour depending on experience. Looking for LPTs who want to be a part of a supportive, creative and fun group of committed nurses. Leadership opportunities available.

New Alternatives, Inc. falls under the California Public Health Order and is additionally required by our county contract to ensure that all employees are vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19.

Responsibilities and Duties

LPTs provide direct care to youth on crisis stabilization units. Staff is trained in evidenced based and promising practices to support their work with children and youth experiencing psychiatric crisis. The program’s goal is to decrease hospitalization whenever possible for the children and youth who are brought the program for assessments.

Qualifications and Skills

  • The Emergency Screening Unit (ESU) in Hillcrest is actively looking for energetic and flexible LPTs with ideally some psychiatric experience.
  • Must possess valid CA LPT license.
