Edgemont High school seeks a collaborative , professional candidate for a Jr/Sr High School Nurse position. The qualified candidate will perform professional nursing services in the maintenance of acceptable health standards, school health records and the emergency treatment of student health problems in accordance with state laws and district policies and complete related work as required.

Duties include but not limited to:

• Reviewing health exam forms
• Pupil Health screening (Vision, Hearing and Scoliosis in NYS mandated grades)
• First aid treatment to students in a calm efficient manner
• Prepares and maintains health records and reports as required by state and local authority
• Experience working with children/adolescents with medical needs, for example diabetes, allergies, seizures , gastrostomy tube feedings.
• Consults with School Medical director, other appropriate staff and /or administrators, primary care physicians, parents or guardians concerning a variety of health factors related to students well being.
• Orders inventories and oversees the storage of first aid and related supplies and equipment.

A successful candidate should have:

• Excellent decision making and communication skills.
• Ability to use computer applications and email.
• The desire to work collaboratively with a successful team including colleagues, students and families and be committed to the principle of equality and inclusion.
• Possession of a license and current registration issued by the New York State Education Department to practice as a registered Professional nurse.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $56,205.00 - $66,163.00 per year
