CLASSIFICATION DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Activities Assistant
Community: Chancellor Health Care, Inc. - Assisted Living Community
Supervisor’s Title: Activities Director
Hours of Work: 16 hours per week or as required to fulfill job requirements.
Date: July 1, 2016
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
JOB FUNCTION
Implements the comprehensive activity program for both groups of residents and individual resident’s interests. Drives residents on outings and to appointments as necessary. Assists Activities Director in decorating, party planning, and other related duties. Provides care and supervision of Day Club clients, if applicable.
DUTIES ANE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Gathers supplies, prepares for activities, solicits resident participation, leads activities, cleans-up after activities.
2. Provides one-on-one socialization to residents as needed or as directed.
3. Drives the bus for resident transportation.
4. Decorates for, and assists with, special events and holidays.
5. Markets the Chancellor community in the community-at-large when opportunities arise.
6. Works as a team member to maintain a pleasant, effective work environment for staff and caring home environment for the residents.
7. Serves on committees as assigned.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Receives general supervision for the Activities Director.

EQUIPMENT USED
Telephone, computer, typewriter, bus, activities supplies, and games.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. A high school diploma is required.
2. Current driver’s license with acceptable driving record. If community has a vehicle which needs a special license, this license is required.
3. Activity work experience with seniors is preferred.
4. Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
5. Must have an acceptable Criminal Record Clearance or Exemption, be fit-for-duty as evidenced by a Health Screening, and have TB Clearance.
6. California: Must have a current First Aid and CPR card.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS
Push residents’ wheelchairs for safety. Drive bus. Ability to maintain positive attitude and make sound decisions.

2 Activities Assistant

Hours of Work: As assigned

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
JOB FUNCTION
Answers phones and performs assigned tasks to assist the Business Office Manager
and/or Executive Director in the efficient operation of the office.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Answers phone in a courteous and professional manner. Routes calls and takes
messages when indicated.
2. Assists in billing procedures as assigned.
3. Assists in accounts payable as assigned.
4. Makes back deposits and sends documentation to corporate office as assigned.
5. Assists in payroll functions as assigned.
6. Files information in resident and employee records.
7. Types and sends mailings as assigned by the Executive Director and department
heads.
8. Maintains assigned logs as assigned (i.e., incident reports, employee evaluation
due dates, etc.)
9. Assists in activities as assigned
10.Works as a Chancellor team member to maintain a pleasant, effective work
environment for staff and caring home environment for the residents.
11.Greets all visitors in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner. Screens
and requires guests to “sign in” on the appropriate section of the log.
12.Serves on committees as assigned.
13.Performs other duties as assigned.
2 Receptionist

Receives general supervision from the Business Office Manager.

None.

2. One to two years relevant work experience.
3. Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
4. Must have an acceptable Criminal Record Clearance or Exemption, be fit-for-duty
as evidenced by a Health Screening, and have TB Clearance.
5. California: May be required to obtain a current First Aid card and a CPR card.
