Worth Takeaway is a craft sandwich shop in the heart of Downtown Mesa. We are more than just sandwiches though and have carefully crafted a menu from scratch over the last 6+ years that we've been open. By joining our team you are gaining the opportunity to expand your skillset and work your way up to sous chef with hard work, consistency and responsibility.

Here are some of the tasks that you will execute as a line cook with us:

  • Prepare food from scratch following our recipes to produce consistent results
  • Know and comply consistently with standard cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen practices
  • Cook meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items using ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment
  • Portion all the products, and always make sure the presentation looks great
  • Keep it clean - follow the sanitation standards, make sure the kitchen stays clean and organized, and follow all food handling standards

Some additional requirements:

Able to work in a fast paced environment, keeping it clean and running smoothly. You should be capable of standing for long periods of time, and able to lift up to 50 pounds. Consistent work schedule, with the ability to work days, evenings or weekends, including some national holidays (excluding Thanksgiving and Christmas as we are closed). You must have reliable transportation (vehicle, bus, light rail) and be able to show up for your shift on time and ready to work.

We require minimum two year experience in a line cook role. If interview process continues, candidate will need to participate in a 90-120 minute skills assessment to see how proficient candidate is in taking direction, completing tasks, and executing a recipe. Followed by an interview with Executive Chef, GM or owner. Line cook role is full time 35 - 40 hours a week depending on volume of business and able to work Friday - Sunday with two additional days during the week.

We are currently filling positions for both AM (7am - 2pm) and PM (2pm - 10pm)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
