SUMMARY: Under direct supervision of the Litigation Docket Manager, and according to established Firm policies and procedures, the Docket Clerk is responsible for maintaining the docket for the Litigation Department utilizing the Firm’s implemented Docket software. Observes confidentiality in all client and Firm matters.

This position can be located in our Indianapolis, Chicago, or Michigan office locations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Dockets and calendars all filing deadlines and court dates for the Litigation Department, utilizing the Firm’s rule-based docketing application.
2. Provides various Compulaw reports to attorneys and LAAs, including the weekly calendar and trial report.
3. Works closely with IT to ensure that daily synchronizations are working and attorney calendars are updated in Outlook.
4. Works closely with Litigation Docket Manager and other Docketing staff to ensure consistency with regard to Docketing among all offices.
5. Chicago Office Only: Complete Court runs including filings and serving courtesy copies as requested by Attorneys and LAAs.
6. Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
1. Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.
2. Ability to read and write at a level normally acquired through the completion of high school or equivalent in order to maintain records and filing systems.3. Ability to operate office equipment including, among other things, persona computer, photocopier, scanner; experience in Excel and iManage.
4. Working knowledge of legal terminology.
5. Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with office staff and legal personnel in person, by e-mail and telephone; accurately follow instructions from a diverse group of attorneys and staff, and provide information with courtesy and tact.
6. Work occasionally requires a high level of concentration when performing a high volume of clerical tasks and performing other essential duties under deadline.
