Martek Global Services, Inc. has been awarded several long-term Federal contracts to provide a wide range of legal and litigation talent. We are currently looking for Litigation Support individuals with the required specialized training and experiences outlined below.
Job Location: Remote; this position will be a telework/work from home regardless of federal COVID precautions.
Salary Range: $55K - $60K
Special Requirements: Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) experience.
General Requirements
The Litigation Support II provides litigation support services and perform the advanced level tasks in the areas of, but not limited to, FOIA, Acquisitions, FOIA Appeals, and Indian Trust Litigation.
Responsibilities & Duties
The Litigation Support II will perform tasks to include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Review of scanned images of documents, utilizing document review software applications, for privileged, confidential, or otherwise protected information, including information protected under attorney-client privilege, attorney work product privilege, deliberative process privilege, the Trade Secrets Act (TSA), the Privacy Act, and any other federal statute, law, or court order that requires or authorizes federal agencies to protect such information from disclosure
- Review of hard copies of documents for privileged, confidential, or otherwise protected information, including information protected under attorney-client privilege, attorney work product privilege, and deliberative process privilege
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing to convey, obtain, exchange information and documents with the relevant bureaus and offices and SOL supervising attorney.
- Possess analytical ability, along with a knowledge of the methods used to gather, analyze, and evaluate information
- Possess knowledge of the title standards, title opinions, title evidence, and the ability to review title evidence and make determinations and to create a title opinion recommendations
- Knowledge of legal research techniques and the ability to apply this knowledge to the analysis of legal problems, preparation of legal documents, and the initiation of recommendations concerning various legal issues
- Ability to communicate orally to convey, obtain, exchange information, and conduct fact-finding interviews with governmental personnel or individuals in businesses or other.
- Ability to use basic office equipment
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
Educational Requirements
A Juris Doctorate (JD) or Paralegal Certification or its equivalent and 3-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Needs some supervision but can work independently.
Experience Requirements
Has extensive knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particulate field. Can work independently and may have a paralegal certification. Reports to an attorney or paralegal. Variances to the level of expertise requirements to meet the demand and nature of the request.
This job description shall be considered to be a Professional or Exempt Administrative ‘salaried’ position.
The non-manual day-to-day work described herein are services being provided directly to the general business operations of Martek’s customer.
