Live-In Provider

Spectrum is looking for a compassionate individual to move in with and share their life with an adult with intellectual and developmental disabilities in need of support, in the Greenwood Village area.

Spectrum is a full-service agency that provides care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are currently looking for a male live-in provider to live with and care for one of our clients in his family home in Greenwood Village. The individual and his family have homes side by side, and they are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate, caring and energetic provider to reside with him. The family is open to meeting providers who have their own families.

The individual is an 18-year-old male who is independent in some activities of daily living (ADLs), but requires supervision to ensure they are completed. He requires line of sight supervision in the community, and has no unsupervised tome at home. He is able to be in his personal space unsupervised, with frequent supervision (about every 15 minutes to just check in). He is independent with hygiene, but requires reminders and supervision. He needs support with all meal prep.

A male provider is preferred. This individual has a large frame and is very tall. Most of his communication is non-verbal, with some one-word phrases. He will use some limited ASL. The only time challenging behaviors are seen is when he needs to express frustration, he might pinch or strike, or jump up and down. Spectrum does provider Safety Care (de-escalation and physical management) training to its providers.

He is very routine oriented, and has exercise is the best coping mechanism when he is frustrated. Each day when he comes home from Day Program, he goes for a walk. He enjoys breaking things down to their smallest possible parts, just to take them apart. His approach is very scientific, and he just enjoys taking things apart.

He attends Day Program 5 days a week, where he also receives behavioral services. Transportation may need to be provided by the live in provider, and the provider would need to be available to pick him up if sick or other emergencies, just as you would for your own child in school.

This full-time caregiver will move into the client's home and will receive of a total daily rate of $215 per day. This is in an incredible opportunity to care for someone in their own element where they will be most successful, and to receive a non-reportable daily rate, due to the Difficulty of Care Act. His family will reside in the home next door, and are excited to for him to have his independence while still having access to his family.
