Job description

We are looking for a careful forklift operator to move packages and material around our facilities. You will be operating a forklift with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety.

Looking for candidates who are able to interview and begin working immediately. Must be willing to undergo a background screening.

This is a Monday-Friday 35 hours work week only.

Duties for the Loading Dock Workers include:

• LDWs will provide the essential services of ensuring delivery trucks are properly positioned in their loading dock bay and all safety procedures have been followed prior to entering the truck.
• Receive, off-load and process goods and material with or without the use of pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks and/or forklifts.
• Reconcile shipping invoices/bill of landing reports to ensure count accuracy.
• Move all received goods and material through security screening and transfer to a United Nations Straight Box Truck for delivery to various distribution points located throughout the UN Secretariat complex.
• Safely secure all goods and material to ensure contents integrity.
• Communicate with Dock Manager regarding any loss or damage to packages. Report accidents, injures, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Proficiency in maintaining computerized tracking data of deliveries is necessary.
• Prompt daily attendance at assigned work location is required

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and possess proof of vaccination
• Must be willing to undergo a background screening.
• Must have a current valid Forklift Certification. We require a copy of the certification. Must have proof of certification.
• 2 years Warehouse experience
• Experience working on a Dock loading and unloading is a MUST
• Team-player with a positive attitude
• Must be comfortable with basic math, reading and writing skills
• Excellent attendance is a must
• Must be able to work early mornings

This is a 35 hour Mon-Fri position.

Hours 7am - 3:00pm
