Loan Documentation Specialist (Consumer and Commercial)
Job description
GENERAL FUNCTION:
Responsible for Consumer and Commercial Loan Documentation and coordination of closing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accurate and timely production of loan documents for new commercial loans on Laser Pro.
- Accurate and timely production of loan documents and disclosures for new consumer loans on Laser Pro, in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Document modifications, extensions and renewals of commercial and consumer loans.
- Order, review, and initiate proper action based on results of UCC searches, good standing certifications, suit/judgment/tax lien searches, title commitments, OFAC, flood determinations, MLA searches, income verifications, credit reports, and Data Verify reports.
- Review loan approvals and ensure all closing conditions have been met prior to closing in accordance with the Lending Policy.
- Assist in the closing of a loan by setting up closing dates and times, submitting loan packages to title companies, and coordinating with loan officers.
- Perform post-closing reviews to ensure all loan documents have been properly executed and originals received.
- Maintains all commercial and consumer loan files, pre- and post-closing, by imaging all documents and related correspondence to FCM.
- Collect, review and process HMDA and CRA data in coordination with the Compliance Department.
- Maintain the loan documentation tickler system according to its procedure, including the prompt and diligent follow up on any expired ticklers assigned in order to obtain the item as soon as possible.
- Review all collateral insurance policies prior to closing to ensure all requirements are met according to the established guidelines, consulting with the Insurance Dept as needed.
- Maintain the loan pipeline information in an accurate and prompt manner, as well as any other department logs where needed.
- Assume additional responsibilities as requested by direct supervisor.
EXPECTATIONS:
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment relative to preparation of loan documentation.
- Maintain current knowledge of, and act in accordance with, consumer related lending regulations.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of Laser Pro System
- Knowledge of Microsoft suite of products (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to work and think independently.
Required Experience
- High school education
- Two years of related experience
