Logistics Specialist

Job Title: Logistics Specialist

Job Summary and Purpose:
Allocate tasks daily and plan for long term labor requirements. They will be responsible for reporting and process improvement.
Responsible for managing orders submitted by our internal customers, ensuring they are completed accurately and efficiently.
This role supports all GDT internal customers, including Project Management, Sales, Staging, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Experience/Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Logistics, Supply Chain or Business Analytics (preferred)
3+ years’ experience in customer service or logistics management
Computer – savvy with a working knowledge of logistics software (ERP) – SAP preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Work closely with Program Management and Sales to coordinate efforts in the Logistics Center.
- Review, allocate and release orders within SAP EWM.
- Troubleshoot inventory discrepancies as needed.
- Manage Inventory Control process in SAP EWM. Cycle count, verify inventory as needed.
- Participate in meetings with internal customers, external customers, vendors, and all levels of Leadership.
- Focus on eliminating obsolete inventory.
- Provide first level of support for Logistics associates, provide direction as needed.
- Maintain Issues Log for all Logistics Center related quality issues.
- Conduct time studies, process improvement initiatives, and other continuous improvement activities.
- Use Root Cause Analysis methodology to implement corrective actions.
- Analyze SAP data to improve team efficiencies.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
