Supply Chain Management/ Logistics Manager

An international food company is seeking for a qualified Supply Chain Management Manager who has 10years + supply chain management, logistics experience. More than 5 years + managerial experience is a must.

This company has been around for more than 80 years and able to locate their product at most major grocery stores.

Currently hybrid: once a week in the office, remainder: remote from home

Location: near Costa Mesa, CA

Business Hour: Monday to Friday – flex time if work 8 hours/day

Job Summary

This position is responsible for managing our international and domestic supply chain to ensure the efficient and cost-effective transfer of products from locations overseas to customer destinations via our third-party warehouse. Included within the scope of duties is the administration of all reverse supply management activities

Job Description

  • Creates and implements the medium/short term strategy and Supply Chain Plan.
  • Develops annual targets and executes plans to achieve the targets.
  • Develops procedures for interaction of Supply Chain activities with other functional areas, such as Sales, Marketing, Finance, Production, and Quality Assurance.
  • Supervises communications with affiliated companies, custom brokers and warehouse to ensure all procurement activities are efficient from order through delivery.
  • Oversees forecasts and quotas to identify needed changes or to determine their effect on Supply Chain

Management activities.

  • Responsible for monitoring product integrity in all areas of the supply chain (Inbound, Receiving, Inventory and Outbound customer deliveries).
  • Coordinates with Sales Team and overseas manufacturing on P.O. placement, P.O. fulfillment and incoming shipping schedules.
  • Selects transportation routes to minimize costs by combining shipments and consolidating warehousing and distribution.
  • Manages and coordinates with custom brokers for entry filing and timely releases.
  • Assures that the company is in full compliance with all applicable government Import and Export regulations.
  • Coordinates with carriers and truckers to guarantee the cost efficient, timely movement and delivery of our products.
  • Manages third-party warehouse to achieve optimum performance and cost-efficient product handling.
  • Responsible for timely delivery of products in a condition that meets and/or exceeds customer expectations.
  • Reviews and files cargo irregularity claims for any rejected products, damaged goods and shortages.
  • Audits all supply chain related charges to verify accuracy and provide timely cost data for landed cost reports.
  • Negotiates prices and terms with vendors and freight forwarders.
  • Works with Senior Management to evaluate and enhance data. Develops tracking/monitoring tools and reports to measure and manage key events in the supply chain.
  • Analyzes inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimize client service.
  • Manages stock inventory levels. Maintains all inventory control records. Manages physical inventory counts and audits.
  • Manages ERP system and implement any system or software changes and upgrades to increase efficiencies in operation.
  • Other task will be assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in business or equivalent is required.
  • 10+ years of logistics/ Supply Chain Management experience is a must
  • More than 5 years’ managerial experience is required.
  • Working knowledge of the logistics of food products, CPG or a similar nature is preferred.
  • Prior experience working in an import of food products is preferred but not a must.
  • Occasional travel and work on weekends required. (maybe 1-2 times a year to different 3PL)
  • Proficient in Office 365 (Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook)
  • Must be able to do overtime (currently overtime is 5-10 hour a week but company is trying to reduce it)
  • Must be able to commute to the office once a week for half day, other days work from home

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $90,000.00 per year
