Summary:

Learn to produce complex machined parts by setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Learn to read blueprints and job orders for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and sequence of operations.
- Learn to inspect products during the machining operation to determine if parts meet specifications, comply with established standards and methods for inspection, testing, evaluation and calibration.
- Set up fixtures, start machines
- Learn preventive maintenance; troubleshooting; machine repairs.
- Learn to set up and operate machines and equipment.

- Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.

Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Some work experience helpful, especially mechanical
Language Skills:
- Ability to read
- Ability to write
- Ability to speak effectively with colleagues
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
