What does a great Machine Operator do?

As a Machine Operator at Fiserv, you'll be trained on how to set up and operate machines. Additionally, you will carry out the task of making adjustments to the machines to ensure work accuracy while responding to equipment error messages. You will perform quality checks, confirm quantity produced, ensure the batch is accurate per the order ticket, and set up the equipment. JOB DETAILS

Insert Operator:
Operate Machines that feed the printed materials such as statements, special offers or coupons into machines to insert into envelopes for mailing. Unload the machines – look for any damaged mail, attention to detail and focus on quality are requirements. May include manually inserting documents/ forms into envelopes, affixing tags to plastic carriers and stuffing mail into expedited mailing packages.

Zip-sort Operator:
Operate presorting machines to sort mail, you may need to make minor adjustments to the machine to meet quality and productive measures. Separate out any damaged mail – you will need to request reprints.
Place the sorted mail into bins to be sent to the post office. Meet all service levels – know when the loaded trucks must leave the facility.

Basic qualifications for consideration:

• High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred but is not required.
• Experience in a fast paced, high volume production environment and understanding of production concepts.
• Proven ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
• Basic computer skills (data entry, PC navigation)

Preferred Qualifications for consideration:

• Mechanical aptitude.

• Deep knowledge of production operation.
• Experience operating a computer workstation.
• Working with associates in collaboration to further company goals concerning efficiently, safety, quality and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
• Flexibility with working in other areas on occasion.
• Strong ability to multitask.

Physical Requirements:

• Be able, as it is necessary-to climb, stretch, crouch or kneel.
• Successful performance requires good vision including close vision for accurate attention to detail.
• Work requires incumbent to be mobile and, in a standing, / walking position.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.

• Uses hands to handle, finger, or feel objects and to perform keyboarding.
